Students and Parents welcome to ELA2 Distance Learning with Mr. McCallum. Starting this week on Wednesday April 1st we will begin doing work at home. All the assignments are available on my Google Classroom. (Classroom codes will be sent via email and Remind.) This work is required and will be graded just like normal classes. My goal is to try and mimic a normal day in my classroom for you while at home. I will also be teaching at home and the best way for us to communicate quickly and effectively is through my Remind account or email. (William.McCallum@marion.k12.fl.us)

We will be using the student Portal, Zoom, Google Classroom, and Remind in order to conduct and communicate during distance learning. The assignments on Google classroom will be updated weekly. Please be sure you have signed up for Remind (Directions are on my teacher website at https://www.marionschools.net/BMS).

We will start having Zoom meetings with students once a week on Thursdays to review classroom expectations, assignments, and answer questions with the students. Please download the app to your phone or go to https://zoom.us/join to create an account. When you set up the account please be sure to use the student’s name so that we know who is in the meeting. This will be used for attendance and safety. The code to join and the password are on my Google Classroom under Zoom meeting.

My office hours will be Monday through Wednesday and Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 am and 1:30 to 2:30 pm. On Thursday I will be in Zoom meetings with students all day so I will respond to parent emails and Remind messages between 3:30 to 4:30 pm.  I will post new assignments weekly as the year progresses. While this is a new approach together we can make this a great end to the school year.
