I am a graduate of the University of Florida, with a major in Plant Science.  I have had other science careers other than teaching which include, Environmental Specialist for the State Health Department,  Scientific Air Monitor, and Laboratory Assistant for Swine feed and lactating investigations with IFAS.

I am a Florida Native from Live Oak, Florida, and I have lived in Ocala since 1994.

I have 2 children, a daughter, Caitlin Rogers, who attended Marion County Schools and  is a BMS and BHS alumni and a graduate from the University of Florida. My son, Cole Rogers attended Marion County Schools, including Shady Hill Elementary School, and Osceola Middle School, and then Trinity Catholic High School and is currently attending FSU.

My husband is a University of Florida graduate and writes for the Ocala Star Banner as the editorial page editor.

I am a lover of nature, and I have 2 dogs, a Labrador, and a Yorkie, and a cat.

During my free time, I mountain bike, walk the dogs, read current fiction, and enjoy the outdoors!
