Important changes for the 2018-2019 School Year

  • 6th grade/New to Liberty Orientation - Thursday, August 9 from 1:30-2:30pm


    Dismissal time has changed. The student school day will be from 7:50 a.m.-1:55 p.m.


    Dress Code

    Before you do your shopping this summer, please refresh the dress code requirements below. If you have any questions, call the school at 352-291-7930:

    • No holes/rips in shorts or pants ABOVE THE KNEE. If there are holes, etc., they must be below the knee. Leggings, shorts, or tape cannot be worn underneath ripped garments to satisfy this requirement.
    • Skirts and shorts must be finger-tip length and fit appropriately.
    • Pants must be worn securely at the waist (no sagging pants).
    • All undergarments must be completely covered.
    • Shirts must be long enough to be tucked into shorts, skirt, or pants.
    • Shirts must cover undergarments, cleavage, and stomach area. Shirt straps must be at least three fingers wide.
    • A tee-shirt must be worn under a jersey. 

     

    The following represents a few examples of clothing and accessories which are not permitted. This is not intended to be all inclusive as other clothing deemed inappropriate by the administrative staff will also be excluded from campus:

    • No bandannas displayed in any fashion.
    • No spaghetti straps, midriffs, shirts that have been cut off, halter tops, tank tops, see-through blouses, or see-through jerseys
    • No low-cut blouses, dresses, backless dresses, or split skirts above finger-tip length.
    • No pajamas or bedroom slippers.
    • No jewelry or clothing which refers to sex, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, profanity, street organizations or suggestive sayings.
    • No hats, caps, headbands, bandannas, hair rollers, picks, combs worn in hair, dog collars, spike jewelry, sunglasses, or wallet chains.
    • Hoods are not to be worn.
    • No lycra, nylon, spandex, leggings, bicycle shorts, boxers. Leggings worn under shorts/skirts will be considered skin for the purpose of determining appropriate length.

    ♦♦♦  ADDITIONAL REQUEST                       liberty middle school supply list 2017-2018

    Our students have a great opportunity to use Chromebooks in the classroom to enhance their studies.  We are asking students to bring in their own set of earbuds to carry in their backpacks.  They may be purchased at the Dollar Tree, Walmart, Target, etc. at a reasonable price.  Please no expensive earbuds.

    **Please note that individual teachers may have specific supply requirements that are not included on the above list. Teachers will make students and parents aware of any additional supplies needed the first week of school.  


    BOX TOPS 4 EDUCATION

    Please send in all box tops you have at home so that Liberty Middle can get MONEY for them! Our goal is $1,000 this year!


    Safety and Procedures

    Please be advised that the speed limit in front of LMS is always posted at 30 m.p.h. When lights are flashing, 20 m.p.h. Please DO NOT stop in the road way to drop off students. It is unsafe and against the law.

    Skyward Family Access (the old Parent Portal) is now up and running.  This is your opportunity to see your student's teachers' website, grades, assignments completed and missing, attendance, discipline referrals, etc. 

    Bring your photo ID to the Front Office to receive your registration username and password.

    All 6th grade students need to get their TDaP shots in order to start 7th grade.  If you already have this completed, you must turn in the Blue Shot Record to the front desk. 


    Important      Cafeteria Update

    Please fill out a new free or reduced lunch application.  This must be resubmitted every year.  Free breakfast is available for all students in the morning.
