    Quarter 1         Chapters 1-4    Stone Age and Mesopotamia Start Ancient Kush and Egypt

    Quarter 2         Chapters 4-8    Ancient Kush and Egypt, India, China, Hebrew Judaism,

    Quarter 3         Chapters 8-10  Ancient Greece, Greek World Begin Roman Republic

    Quarter 4         Chapters 10-11, 16 Roman Republic, Roman Christianity, Early Americans.

     

    Students will complete the section assessment assignment upon completion of each section. Students will also complete all questions found in graphs, illustrations and pictures for each section. Each student will be given a chapter test as well as a quarterly writing prompt for test grades. The teacher will give additional assignments, quizzes, and tests as deemed necessary. Except for exams all tests will be open notes and some will be open book. Student notes consist of their assignment pages plus anything else they might wish to include in personal subject notes.

     

    The course of progress may be altered do to student need and/or changes to the school calendar. Classroom daily assignments and quizzes are 50% of the grade. Tests count for 40% and any assignment counted as homework will be 10% of the total grade. Please note I just assign work, your child will have time to work on it in class and may finish it. Work not completed in class must still be completed.

     

    The grading scale is as follows.

    100-90 = A

      89-80 = B

      79-70 = C

      69-70 = D

      59-0   = F

     

    EARTH SCIENCE

    Quarter 1  NOS pages (before chapter 1), 11,12,12,14.1,15.3 Methods of Science, atmosphere and weather

    Quarter 2  1,2,3,4,5,7.2,9,10.1,16.3 Earth's structures changes over time

    Quarter 3  1,6,7.1,8,115.1Plate tectonics

    Quarter 4  17,18,19,20 Astronomy-solar system and astronomy-stars and the universe.

    Students will complete assignments upon the completion of each section. Students will do the active reading (AR) questions which include all numbered questions in the reading. Students will then complete the lesson review for the section. The teacher will give additional assignments, quizzes, and tests as deemed necessary. Except for exams all tests will be open notes and some will be open book. Student notes consist of their assignment pages plus anything else they might wish to include in personal subject notes.

    The grading scale is as follows.

    100-90 = A

      59-0   = F
