Degrees and Certifications:
I have had the amazing opportunity to teach the three to five-year-old D/HH preschool children at South Ocala Elementary for the last 32 years and this year starts a new adventure adding the name "Communication Classroom" to my class description and a few more amazing children who need a little extra language support. These early years of a child's life are the most critical for brain development and in these few short years that children are in early childhood settings, they need to develop a strong foundation in social skills and language skills. My class is all about language devleopment while making sure each child has the best experiences to grow in all areas of development, and I love it. I started my career at the Florida School for the Deaf in St. Augustine and moved to Ocala in 1986. I have been teaching pre-K to Deaf and Hard of hearning children at South Ocala since the 1988-1989 school year. I even have "Grand-students!" I have the best job in the world!
