Welcome to Pre K!  My name is Pam Blackburn and I am thrilled to be your child’s teacher this year.

I am looking forward to working with and getting to know students and parents.  I taught

Varying Exceptionalities Self Contained for five years and Pre K Handicapped Self Contained for

sixteen years. I taught Kindergarten for three years. This is my third year teaching Pre K and thoroughly

enjoyed each day. Nalini Mangar is our classroom assistant. She has been with Marion County Public

Schools for seventeen years. Nalini is awesome with the students and is a natural professional at teaching

Pre K pupils. I think that communication is the key to substantial parent- teacher relationship. I will

communicate via Class Dojo, phone calls, parent-teacher conferences, newsletters and updates on

student progress. Please call me, e-mail me if you have any questions. The school number is 352- 671-

4750, leave a message and I’ll call you back as soon as possible. You may prefer just reaching me

through Class Dojo. My e-mail address is: Pamela. Blackburn @ marion.k12.fl.us

*Students are required to have a mask and a bottle of water every day.

*Students must have tennis shoes/sneakers daily. This helps keep everyone safe on the playground when we are allowed to participate.

*Please encourage your child to fasten and unfasten clothes when going to the restroom, to tie shoes, and to wipe/blow nose their own noses.

*Encourages your child to always ask for help at school as needed.

*It is important to have a consistent nightly bedtime routine. This ensures your child comes to school well rested and ready to learn.

*Reading is an excellent bedtime routine activity. Reading to your child daily is one of the most valuable gifts you can give him /her.

*Talking with your child about school is an amazing way to help build a safe and successful school year!
