Degrees and Certifications:
I was born in Rhode Island (yes, that is a real state, not an island.) and moved to Citrus Springs, Florida when I was in first grade. I attended elementary school, middle, and high school in Inverness, graduating from Citrus High. I attended the College of Central Florida, Florida State University, University of Alabama-Huntsville, and finally graduated from Florida Southern College with my teaching degree. I have lived in Rhode Island, Alabama, and California, but finally made my way back to call Florida my forever home. I have been both a paraprofessional and teacher at Ocala Springs Elementary School for a total of 19 years! I consider it my second home.
I have been married to my wonderful husband for 31 years, and we have three beautiful grown children. My husband and I live on a mini-farm in Anthony, along with 2 horses, 7 goats, 6 chickens, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. Can you tell I love animals? That is the reason I started and sponsor the Ocala Springs Elementary 4H Club. I love being outdoors, especially gardening and camping. I also enjoy music (listening to and playing my guitar) and playing video games.
Finally, and foremost, I LOVE TEACHING! That is my passion.
