Marion Education Channel

  • The Marion Education Channel is carried by local cable companies including Comcast Channel 99 and Cox Channel 12.  

     

    The Marion Education Channel broadcasts quality educational and entertainment programming 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year to over 200,000 households in Marion County. In addition, 56 public schools have access to the programming, with a potential internal viewership of 49,000 students and employees.

     

    The Marion Education Channel program library includes more than 1,500 individual programs with subject areas including Literature/Language Arts, American History, World History, Arts and Entertainment, Mathematics, Science and Character Education to name a few.

     

    The MEC features a variety of local programs including "Your Referndum Dollars at Work, the Golden Apple Teacher Gala, Ocala/Marion County Christmas Parade, Sunshine Book Bowls, School Board work sessions and meetings, the Marion County Student Media Festival, high school band festivals, and other programs.

     

    The Marion Education Channel also airs classic movies regularly except when the Marion County School Board or the Marion County Commission conducts board meetings.
