Mr. Travis Emrich
My name is Coach Emrich and I will be your child’s Physical Education teacher this school year. This is the start of my 10th year here at Harbour View and my 20th year as a teacher. I moved out of the classroom and onto the PE Field four years ago. We have seen a lot of new and exciting PE activities over the past four years. These include the donation of 25 bicycles to our school for out 3rd-5th grade students to learn to ride and ride safely. I have also added 30 sets of Cardio Drumming equipment since joining the department. During the 19-20 school year, I was able to get 9 disc golf goals and over 30 sets of discs donated to our school. HVE is the only school in the county to have 9 holes of disc golf! I am looking forward to adding many new activities this year!
I am a graduate of The Ohio State University with both a Bachelors and a Masters Degree in Elementary Education. I taught in Ohio for 4 years before moving to the warmth and sun of Florida. In my spare time, I like to work with Sport and Personal Protection K9's. I personally own a 2 1/2 year old Belgian Malinois.
I was recognized in 2016 and again in 2017 as being a High Impact Teacher by the State of Florida. I bring my high expectations from the classroom to the PE department. Students will be challenged to try new things and to push themselves beyond what they think is possible.
Please make sure to send your child to school each day dressed for the weather and wearing closed toe tennis shoes. If proper footwear is not being worn, your child will not be able to participate in the activities and their grade may fall as a result. If you have any questions, please call me at the school or email me. I will return all communications within 24 hours. I look forward to working with you and your child this school year!
