GRADUATION DATE
Friday, June 4, 2021
Location: West Port High School Stadium
Graduation Time: The processional from the Performing Arts Center (PAC), across the campus to the Ken Vianello football stadium begins at 5:30 PM. Graduates are seated in the Ken Vianello football stadium and the opening remarks will begin at 6:00 PM.

Location: Performing Arts Center (PAC).
This ceremony is coordinated by the Student Advisory Council (SAC) and is optional. The ceremony lasts for about one hour. Seniors that wish to attend should wear their cap and gown and adhere to the graduation ceremony dress code.

GRADUATION INFORMATION
Graduation Honor Cords and Stoles
Graduation is a time to recognize achievement! Honor cords and stoles add a level of distinction for students who have earned it. Graduates will receive their honor cords at graduation practice. Honor stoles will be distributed just prior to the graduation ceremony. Only official WPHS honor cords, stoles, and medallions distributed by West Port High School may be worn at the graduation ceremony.

Silver Stole
3.0 and above weighted final GPA
Honor stoles are the property of WPHS and must be returned following the graduation ceremony.
HONOR CORDS
Gold Cord
4.0 and above weighted final GPA
Silver Cord
3.5 - 3.999 weighted final GPA
Teal Cord
3.0 - 3.499 weighted final GPA
White Cord
National Honor Society - Paid member of the West Port High School Chapter of the NHS
Light Blue Cord
Mu Alpha Theta - Paid member of the West Port High School Chapter of Mu Alpha Theta
Purple Cord
Science National Honor Society - Paid member of the West Port High School chapter of the SNHS
Navy Cord
Member of the Marion County Center for the Arts magnet program for a minimum of three years AND maintain a 3.0 or above unweighted GPA OR a 3.5 or above weighted GPA
Red Cord
Complete the Medical Academy program AND maintain a 3.0 or above unweighted GPA OR a 3.5 or above weighted GPA

Purchased as part of the cap and gown package

MANDATORY GRADUATION PRACTICE

This is a FULL SCHOOL DAY. Seniors are extpected to be in attendance from 9:26 AM - 3:36 PM

All seniors MUST attend practice that day. Seniors who do not attend graduation practice will not be permitted to walk in the graduation ceremony.

Seniors need to report directly to the PAC.

Do NOT bring backpacks, purses, or anything else to practice.

Senior Arrival: Seniors must be in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) at 4:00 PM
GRADUATION DRESS CODE FOR SENIORS:
Girls: A dress, or skirt (at least knee length) and blouse, or dress pants outfit, and dress shoes.
Boys: White dress shirt with dark slacks, a tie, and dark dress shoes.
Both: No jeans, denim, shorts, flip flops, shower shoes, or athletic shoes will be allowed. This is a formal, celebratory occasion and we must dress accordingly.
