  • Friday Update; 4/3/2020

    Happy Friday!
We are a couple days into our 'digital learning' and I'm hoping that slowly things are becoming less stressful and more understandable.  I'm always available to help the best I can.
A couple things I wanted to tell you today:
    1. Many of you have completed 'The Offer' comprehension quiz (if you have not, it must be completed by Sunday).  If you click back on the assignment you should be able to see your child's grade.  I know that this is all new to all of us, so if you look at the grade and are unhappy, your child may take it again.  Just open the quiz and submit it again.  Pay close attention to the page numbers.  The .pdf may look like 'The Offer' is on one page, but it is actually on both pgs. 20-21.  Look closely at the bottom corners to find the correct page number to support each answer.
    2. If you want your child to use SmartyAntz (which I definitely recommend), go to the following website and use the information given.
    Sign in using his information:
    Username: richardshultz
    Password: lunch/student number
*On a side note, all username and password information, plus additional resources, can be found on my teacher website under the 'online resources' tab.
    3. Today at 1:00 there will be an optional class meeting on Zoom for the children.  This will just be a chance for the children to see each other, Mrs. Cook, and myself.  The email Mrs. Cook sent had the link to enter the meeting, as well as a Zoom 'cheatsheet.'
I think that is all for now.
    Have a great weekend!

  • Finding Daily Stories

Posted by Richard Schultz on 4/2/2020 10:50:00 AM
There's been a lot of confusion about where to find the story you need for the lesson today, called 'The Offer.'  I have attached a video showing how to get to the story.
Just as an overview, each of the stories we will be using are actually separate 'chapters' in this book called 'Kate's Book.'  You can find the .pdf for 'Kate's Book' listed in the lesson materials for each day you will need it.
If you have any questions please let me know and I'll try to help

  • New Digital Learning

Posted by Richard Schultz on 3/31/2020 4:32:00 PM
    Here we go! 😊
I know that all of this new information and online learning can be overwhelming-believe me, us teachers feel it too.  Let's just take it step-by-step and try to learn it along the way.  I will be using Google Classroom for my online instruction.  I have attached a video showing you how to get to Google Classroom, with a brief overview of how I have organized my digital learning class.
**A correction to the video: student emails are   I gave the wrong information in the video.
Materials and assignments for the week will be posted on Monday and are due by the following Sunday.  You will also see, since this is a short week, that there is only one required assignment this week, which is due by Sunday.  There are many materials listed for each day, but that is just to give as much material as I could.  The only assignment required this week is the comprehension quiz for "The Offer."
As always, if you have any questions please email me and I will respond as soon as I can.
Also, keep your eyes open for more emails and information since I will be troubleshooting problems, and keeping you up to date on the newest information.
