Welcome to Oakcrest Elementary

  • Oakcrest Elementary School of International Studies!

    primary years

Since 2011, Oakcrest Elementary School of International Studies proudly promotes international mindedness with over 1,500 elementary schools around the globe as an International Baccalaureate World School (I.B.).

The I.B. Primary Years Programme (PYP) prepares students to become active, caring, lifelong learners who demonstrate respect for themselves and others, and have the capacity to participate in the world around them. Oakcrest focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both within and beyond the classroom.

The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) aims to help students develop the skills, knowledge and attitudes they need to excel, not only in their studies, but also in their personal growth to become active, global citizens.

ALL students enrolled at Oakcrest Elementary School of International Studies are I.B. students of the Primary Years Programme. Our I.B. students participate daily through hands on investigation, cooperative learning, research and technology, and student driven inquiry. In addition, every child receives ongoing instruction in Spanish, our second language taught on our campus, where the learning opportunities explore into geography, history, cultures and traditions of various Spanish speaking countries.

Join us and allow our next generation to discover, “What change in the world can I.B.?”

    Drop-off & Pick-Up Safety

Safety of our students is always our #1 priority; therefore we want to remind parents of several rules that enable us to stay committed to a safe school.

    1. Car Line: Please stay in your vehicle to pick up and drop off students in the mornings and afternoons if your child is a car rider.    Students will NOT be released to parents who are not in cars!  Our drop off and pick up area is located  at the side of the school.  Drop off is a single line in the morning.  We will begin opening car doors in the morning at 7:10.  Pick up is a double line in the afternoon for pick up only.   Please make sure your car sign is displayed using your passenger visor for afternoon pick-up.  We begin dismissal at 2:45.
    2. Visitors:  All visitors must check into the front office when coming to campus with a picture ID.  Visitors will be provided a badge to wear for the duration of their visit.  Badges should be returned to the front office when leaving.  Please allow extra time for the badge process.
    3. Walkers: All walkers will enter and exit campus by the front office.  Parents must use the car line rather than parking along the street.  Gates will open at 7:10am.  Please do not arrive early as no supervision is provided.
