    Live Online Learning

    with

    Mrs. Scherer!

Dear BMS Science Scholars and their families,

Beginning April 1 (No! This is not an April Fool's Joke!), we begin online learning. First, I know you will do your best. Please, know that I will also do my best. Neither one of us has asked to be in this situation, but together, we can preserve and do well! There will be questions that I do not have answers to such as how long this will last. In time, those will be answered. As soon as I hear anything, I post it to my Teacher's Website.

When will we go back to school? I will let you know as soon as I know!

First and foremost, our online classes need to remain safe and secure learning environments. The expectation is that you will be engaged, respectful, and committed to learning. Students will still adhere to the guidelines set forth in the student handbook. (https://www.marionschools.net/domain/6716)

Since I'm not in class and this is online, can I act the fool? No!

The Office Hours and Lesson (Instructional) Hours are staggered to accommodate your other classes and obligations during this time. Lessons will be recorded, however, it is faster to get your questions answered if you make it to the Live lessons. Per district instructions, you will complete 2-3 activities in my class per week. You will have between 5-7 days to complete them. At least one activity per week needs to be graded and added to the grade book on Skyward.

Will the assignments be graded? Yes!

    Are they required? Yes!

I will post assignments through Google Classroom. You must use your school login to enter. Other emails will not work. The same applies to enter Zoom meetings. You must use your name. If a parent wants to Zoom in for Office Hours, they need to indicate which student is their child. Passcodes are located in Google Classroom.

Hey! I can't sign onto my Google Classroom! Please, make sure you are using your school-issued email address.

I'd like to see my child's Google Classroom, but it won't let me sign in. You must have a school-issed email address. Simply have your student sign in and take a look!

To help resolve technical issues with MCPS-distributed Chromebooks, users can call the Parent Service Desk Helpline at 352.867.2100.  This helpline operates Monday–Friday, 7:30 A.M.- 4:30 PM (wait times can vary).  Please note: Helpline technicians cannot resolve issues with Internet connections or student passwords.

I'm having technical difficulties with my Chromebook! For this, Mrs. Scherer is not your girl! Please, call the Parent Service Desk Helpline at 352.867.2100.

As always, if you have questions ask!

    Scientifically,
