• Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year.  While I am a new teacher to Osceola Middle School, I have been teaching for the last 10 years at Liberty Middle School with the same population of students.  I look forward to teaching each of your children this year.

I have a high expectation that each of my students will make, at the very least, one year's growth.  I have had great success with making this happen in the past and see no reason not to continue.

I am open to, and look forward to, any and all communication and suggestions from you as to ways to make this a super year for your child.  Please feel free to contact me whenever a question or concern arises.

Also remember to check and sign your child's planner each night as there will be information of what is expected or simply a message to let you know how your child's day progresses.  I also look here to find notes from you.

I will be co-teaching with Ms. Reynolds this year.  The students will be divided between us and we will each have a homeroom class that will be taught general life skills, this class is referred to as Unique Learning Skills.  We will then split teaching duties and I will be responsible to teach Math skills and Science skills.  We will be doing many Science projects throughout the school year.  In Math we will be learning cooking skills as well as basic Math skills. I use Excel Math program, and while it has been retired, they had 43 years in service and I still consider the program to be a stellar.

Thank you in advance for your help,

    Mrs. Tanya Shively
