We are teaming up to prepare our students for
GRADUATION and BEYOND!
Reddick-Collier Elementary is a school where children are ready and eager to learn in a caring, safe, and orderly environment. Parents, teachers, and community members believe all children can learn, and they work as a team to provide a strong academic foundation, instill pride in achievement, and prepare students to be successful. Our educational plan focuses on clearly defined student goals, academic achievement, enhanced professional environment, and parent involvement.
This year, we remain an Extended Learning School. This is required by Florida Senate Bill 1514 based on FCAT reading scores. The student day will begin at 7:45 a.m. and end at 3:05 p.m. On Early Release days, students will be dismissed at 1:05 p.m.
We are offering this additional learning time to improve reading skills for our students. This extra time will allow our teachers to work directly with students to learn how to use strategies helping them reach their academic goals.
Please note the following details:
Students scoring a level 5 on FCAT Reading are not required to attend the extra hour, but attendance is encouraged so that they may participate in extended enrichment opportunities. We are dedicated to offering an environment at our school “Where Every Child Will Succeed.” We encourage you to “Be There” for your child and to please contact us if you have any questions about the unique opportunity involving our students.
Here is an outline of our updated school uniform policy:
Black, Khaki, or Blue Jean shorts, pants, skirts, rompers, or skorts. Overalls and jeans with designs are NOT part of our uniform policy.
School uniform attire can be purchased at Dollar General, Wal-Mart, Target, Old Navy, Kmart, and so on.
Parents, Marion County Public Schools wants to hear from you. The district and its 53 schools want to know how they can better serve students, parents, caregivers, and other stakeholders in our local community. With parents taking more interest in their children’s education, the district’s latest Parent Survey is now available online and at each school.
Parents can access the survey at www.marionschools.net/parentsurvey. The survey is available in both English and Spanish.
