Welcome to Dunnellon Elementary School!

    • **Welcome to Dunnellon Elementary School!!

Our mission is to create an environment where all children, regardless of differences, will be able to succeed academically, physically, and emotionally to their maximum ability.

The Dunnellon Elementary School community is committed to providing a safe, stimulating, and challenging learning environment that meets the needs of all students.

Dunnellon Elementary School is located in rural southwestern Marion County near the scenic Rainbow River. Once the students leave Dunnellon Elementary, most are assigned to Dunnellon Middle School and then go on to Dunnellon High School.

The Dunnellon Elementary School family is very proud of our academic growth. Dunnellon Elementary School has shown continued improvement over the past several years. The school has improved from a C in 2008, to an A in 2009, and a B in 2010. Dunnellon did not achieve Adequate Yearly Progress (APY) in 2010 with the economically disadvantaged student subgroup.

For the 2010-2011 school year, we have approximately 652 students in grades Pre-K through fifth grade attending Dunnellon Elementary. We have 35 K-5 classrooms, two Title 1 Pre-K handicap classrooms, two Varying Exceptionalities (VE) classrooms, and two ESE teachers servicing ESE students utilizing an inclusion model. Our average class size in K - 2 is 18 students, and 22 students in 3rd – 5th grade classes.

Dunnellon Elementary School is starting its nineteenth year as a Title 1 School. Funds from the program are used to purchase faculty and staff positions, staff development activities, technology equipment, student materials, and parent involvement activities.
